2013 IBSA WORLD YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS
GOALBALL

Canadian Blind Sports is seeking qualified goalball coaches for the Canadian Men’s and Women’s Junior Goalball teams attending the IBSA World Youth Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA.

The selected applicants will work under the direction of the High Performance Staff, for the duration of the World Championships and must be available for travel during the approximate dates of July 7-16, 2013.

Responsibilities of the coaches:
 Organize training for the Canadian Junior National Teams
 Provide support to the team while at the competition
 Ensure optimal training and competition conditions are provided to the team at the competition
 Other tasks as required to ensure optimal performance of the teams at the competition

Preference will be given to candidates who have
 Background/experience in coaching athletes who are blind/visually impaired
 Knowledge of the sport of Goalball
 NCCP Coaching Certification (Goalball Community Coaching Course) or other NCCP approved courses
 Excellent communication skills and understanding of team dynamics
 Ability to communicate in English and French
