Thank You Message from CBSA President, Robert Fenton

As a parent and a volunteer involved in the Canadian sports system, I have learned firsthand how important coaches are in assisting athletes to achieve their objectives. Whether the coach assists a young child by teaching her or him how to skate, teaches an athlete how to throw a ball or provides advice to a national team on how to vanquish an opponent, the coach gives extensively of their time, often at the expense of their friends and family. It is too simplistic to say they are important. They are absolutely essential to the functioning of our sports system and the goals that Canadian athletes achieve.
We in the Canadian Blind Sports Association sincerely thank all of Canada’s provincial and national Goalball coaches for everything they do for our athletes. In addition to providing excellent technical advice on how our athletes can play Goalball better, many of these coaches also act as guides, mentors, confidantes and role models, often without as much recognition as their contributions warrant. We thank you for all the help you have provided to athletes and volunteers in our system. We acknowledge value and appreciate your contributions and will continue to do our best to ensure that your experience in working with blind and partially sighted athletes is as rewarding as possible for both you and them.
