Job Posting – Men’s National Team Head Coach

General Description:
Under the direction of the High-Performance Director (HPD), the Men’s Head Coach (HC) shall be responsible for direct coaching support and national team program implementation. Together the HPD and HC will drive cultural expectations within the program and deliver vital high-performance support in line with the program objective of Podium at major international competitions (World Championships & Paralympics). The HC shall adopt an equitable values-based approach that complies with all Canadian Blind Sports codes of conduct.

Commitment:
We are seeking a part-time Men’s Head Coach to deliver high performance programming and ongoing coaching to the Men’s National Team. Consideration may be given to a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and availability in determining the time commitment. Weekend, evening, and travel availability will be required for program and event attendance. Key dates include:

  • 2nd – 5th December 2021 – Men’s Selection Camp, Ottawa, Canada
  • 15th – 22nd February 2022 – Americas Championship, Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • 11th – 13th March 2022 – Vancouver Grand Slam, Vancouver, Canada
  • 20th – 23rd May 2022 – Malmo Intercup, Malmo, Sweden
  • 6th – 18th June 2022 – Goalball World Championship, Hangzhou, China

Education & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years Experience Coaching Goalball (Provincial/International)
  • Minimum NCCP Certified Competition Development Coach (or equivalent/working towards)
  • Current Respect in Sport Training Certificate
  • Current First Aid & CPR Level A
  • Eligibility to Work in Canada
  • Valid Passport (no travel restrictions)
  • Bilingual – French & English (an asset)
