Coaching Announcement

Canadian Blind Sports Association would like to announce the appointment of Mr. Trent Farebrother as the Head Coach and Ms. Nathalie Seguin as the Assistant Coach of the Women’s National Goalball Team for the 2016 competitive season.

Trent and Nathalie have demonstrated exceptional leadership and complementary skills over the past year and a half. Trent and Nathalie will lead the medal potential women’s team in to the 2016 Paralympic Games, as well as taking the team to Malmo, Sweden and Supras, Poland for pre-Paralympic competitions in May.

“Trent brings to the Head Coach position some great experience as a former athlete and as a provincial coach” stated Shane Esau, High Performance Director for CBSA. “I think the skills and abilities that Trent has, will enable our Women’s team to produce a medal at the Paralympics and that is why we selected him”.

Trent is also the Head Coach of the Alberta Men’s and Women’s Senior Provincial Goalball teams.

Shane Esau expressed that “Nathalie has a great future in the sport of Goalball and I am very pleased to have her in our program. She will be leading a National program in this country in the very near future due to her hard work and kinesiology back ground”. Nathalie is also Head Coach of the Quebec Senior Provincial team. Ms. Seguin will also be brought in as the lead of the CBSA’s next generation of athletes, with the hopes of developing an International level development program for the next 4-12 years.
